The GeoSkimmer™ is a system designed to actively recover free-floating hydrocarbon (LNAPL) from groundwater. It consists of a combination of floating intakes of either type HP or RD. Both types of floats are interchangeable and can be easily changed on site to suit the application. Used in conjunction with the PosiFlo 48™, the GeoSkimmer™ can remove product up to 200 litres per hour.
FLOAT TYPE HP
A hydrophobic intake screen which, allows only hydrocarbon to pass through the filter and into the recovery pump. It can reduce the product layer down to a sheen (0.25 mm) depending on the viscosity and specific gravity.
FLOAT TYPE RD
A specially-designed float which allows product to enter and pass down the coiled flexible tube to the recovery pump. High recovery rates are achievable but, depending on the specific gravity of the product, may leave a residual layer up to 25 mm.
