Leading manufacturer of rail track drainage systems, Demco (a brand of MGS), have announced they will be exhibiting at Rail Link Networking in Ireland.

The largest networking event in Ireland for professionals within the rail infrastructure sector is being held at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on the 10th April 2025.

As a company manufacturing and supplying Network Rail and LUL approved track drainage pipe systems (TerraRange), Demco will be presenting its unique rail products to the Irish and international attendees.

“We are thrilled to be exhibiting at this year’s Dublin Rail Link event and having the opportunity to connect with key professionals from railway companies of all sizes. Events like Rail Link Networking are pivotal for creating collaboration within the industry, and we look forward to connecting with Ireland’s leading infrastructure companies” states David Bland, Demco Division Manager (Rail).

With a vision of ‘Driving rail connections to shape a smarter, connected future’, Rail Link Networking aims to foster interactions among key stakeholders in the Irish rail industry.

The event attracts an average of 300 visitors from over 200 companies, including buyers and engineers. This year, 40 rail organisations, including SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprise), are set to exhibit their services and products.

As an exhibitor, Demco will be showcasing their UK manufactured rail drainage products.

TerraDrain and TerraLine from Demco are specifically designed for under-track and cess drainage systems, playing a crucial role in underground rail framework projects across the UK.

“Demco have been instrumental in enhancing the durability and efficiency of rail track drainage systems. Our heavy-duty Demco TerraDrain and TerraLine pipes are engineered to withstand high loads and thus can be laid as shallow as 300mm under the track” adds David.

Founded in 1988, MGS are a leading manufacturer and supplier of specialist quality products used in ground investigation, water well and geothermal drilling applications and more.

Demco, a brand of MGS, has been a leading manufacturer of specialist thermoplastic pipework systems for over 40 years. With expertise in rail track drainage, Demco’s solutions are certified for high load and shallow applications, holding the Network Rail Certificate of Acceptance (PA05/02084).

Demco (a brand of MGS Ltd) helped specify, prove, manufacture & supply TerraDrain™ and TerraLine™ products to improve Track & line-side drainage at Morley Station near Leeds.

Demco’s specialist track drainage pipe TerraDrain 11 has been installed as part of upgrade works at Bletchingley Tunnel in Surrey.

TerraDrain was used because it is approved for installation at shallow depths for high load track bed drainage. Designed to be installed as shallow as 300mm below sleeper, this heavy-duty HDPE pipe with its unique O-Ring push-fit joint system ensures rapid installation.

More than 300m of 315mm diameter TerraDrain 11 was installed in the 6ft in the Bletchingley Tunnel project last week, proving again it is the correct choice for track drainage.

The modelling of the S&C at Southampton Station to incorporate a new track layout and drainage system.

The project required 200m of 6ft TerraDrain collector drainage together with 12m of TerraLine carrier drain UTX, four in-line GRP TerraPits and three 90° Terrapits, one 90° narrow TerraPit and one narrow TerraPit in-line.

The project involved refurbishment of Scarborough Station, track layout and the track drainage system.

Work included Drainage run No.1: Cess drainage through Platform 5 from the outfall under the bus station car park out towards York, then cross drain to pick up the isolated 6ft drainage between the signal post and truck counter.

Drainage run No.2:  A 6ft drain from the end of Platform 2 running away towards York to an outfall beyond the old signal box.
