PDC bits are a high production open hole non-coring bit popular for their reliable high production rate and ability to cut through varying geology; especially in geological situations like cyclic coal measures where the strength of the geology continuously varies from soft to hard.
The design of our popular 3 wind PDC bit features a domed crown with 3 spiral rows of tungsten carbide cutters going from the face of the bit to sides for cutting and protection for longer life bit wear.
The initial investment in a good quality PDC bit will pay back in it’s reliable production rate and continued performance.
PDC bits produce large volume of cuttings due to the speed of penetration and as such they need high volumes of air flush to keep the bit face clean and cooled.
