Journey to Net Zero

13 October 2023

MGS is delighted to have joined forces with its Carbon Partner Auditel to deliver the objective of becoming Carbon Neutral while on their longer-term journey to reaching Net Zero.

Managing Director of MGS Anthony Stupak is passionate about the preservation of our environment, and finding ways to reduce the impact that our products have on the planet. Anthony comments, “Much of our business centres around oil-based plastics, which are essential for durability, however we are investing in researching suitable alternatives. This would be a huge step forward for us and our industry as a whole”.

With the help of the Auditel team led by Julie Adams, the next step is to measure the carbon footprint of MGS and its products, giving a solid foundation to build from and improve on. This will help MGS identify the next initiatives towards the goal of achieving net zero.

MGS had 600 solar panels installed in 2015 to reduce electricity consumption and improve the company’s CO2 footprint.  There are plans to extend this further to offset the extra energy needed for new machinery in the coming years.

MGS has also almost fully transitioned to LED lighting and reduced paper usage; EV charging points have been installed at two of sites, and electric vehicles have been added to the company fleet.

“We are excited to be on this new journey with Auditel to continue reducing our CO2 footprint,” added Anthony.
