Demco TerraDrain in Network Rail CP6

14 July 2020

As part of Network Rail’s Control Period 6 (CP6), in the South East Region, a number of possessions originally planned for 2021 for track drainage works were brought forward to April-July this year – including Horsham, Southborough, Hanson Yard, Mark Beech Tunnel, Selling and Crawley to Horsham. In total, more than 1,300m of Demco TerraDrain has been supplied during this period.

Demco was able to quickly respond and supply its TerraDrain pipe system to the contractors as needed, thanks to large stock and a UK in-House manufacturing facility. Working closely with UKDN Waterflow Ltd & Onsite Central Ltd, Demco helped ensure all these time-critical projects were delivered on schedule.

“We are proud to have played a part in these vital projects, particularly given the difficulties the COVID-19 pandemic caused. It is a credit to all our staff that it was business as normal,” said Division Manager Dave Bland.

The CP6 Delivery Plan for the South East Route is designed to improve the network for passengers and freight customers, covering the time period from April 2019 to March 2024. It has involved the setting out of funding requirements for operations, maintenance and renewals activities, and sharing the predicted outputs and outcomes this will deliver.
